She dragged him to the altar....literally.
Good friend and ultimate dude Jason recently got hitched. I had the honor of snapping pics.
Should have zoomed out all the way to get a pseudo-fisheye effect. Still makes me smile though. I'm sure the bride and groom will love it too.
enjoy cg

#42, the dirty and the ugly.
Ok, some are dirtier than others, this one still qualifies :)
Window was camera left adding rim light to left of face. flash with lumiquest softbox is on right. Would have liked a little more wrapping light but flash had to be out of reach of crawling infant.
specs: iso 200, f16, 1/60th

Late night work
Can anyone tell me why exif data isn't transferred to jpg when saving RAW from light room?
Details: Flash into white paper on laptop, ttl -2. Handheld flash (both sb-600) with globe diffuser to help with depth of shadows on face. Something along the lines of iso-200, ss-60, f12 (or 16).

A quick trip out.../preparing for Flashbus
Aly came to visit the other day, so I we made the most of the time and took a few photos.
Aly
Pulled up on the railroad tracks in town. Took a few shots, while I had my head turned, Aly sat on some railroad ties. I told her it was just dirt, didn't have the heart to tell her it was oil. So much for a white pair of shorts...oh well, another excuse to go shopping right Al?
details: D90, 85mm macro, 3.5, edited in light room. really happy with the black and white on this one. little bummed that exif data isn't saved with the jpg.
Goin' Rogue
So we were cruisin' town looking for a place to take a portrait. I'm not sure if this place was abandoned or a buisiness. But had a cool door and steps leading up to it. So Aly got out and I stood on the van door to get eye level with her. 2 quick shots and then we ran.
details: d90, i think this on was with my 50mm. f2.8, no flash.
On another note, heading to Indy tomorrow to see David Hobby and Joe McNally and thier tour the flash bus
super stoked. still would like to get to Kip May's photo class, think I'd learn more, but had to take a chance to see the flash bus. may be the only time for that one.
Wish me safe travels.
g'night all.

DIY Beauty Lamp
Ok, finally got things pieced together....
1. Can Light Purchased from Farm Store $8 bucks
2. Full Spectrum Bulb, 4 pk $4 bucks
3. Convex Mirror, Walmart $ 2 bucks
4. Old lamp shade found around the house - duct taped on for testing. Notice hole in center of lamp shade
5. Mirror Placed in bottom of the inside of the lamp shade
6. Sputnik - duct tape on outside to allow sticky mirror to stick. 'Antannae' are zip ties, Can light had holes, I had to drill holes in lamp shade.
7. 'Antannae' get trimmed
Results:
Can light only, no diffuser. Darkened room, light 3' camera left
Can Light with diffuser, no mirror attachment, Loss off light 1 1/2 stops or so
Can light with lamp shade and mirror, another loss of 1/2 stop of light
Kid got bored, I was the replacement.
Can light, Lamp diffuser no mirror, notice the highlight on face.
Light just out of frame camera left.
Can light, Lamp diffuser with mirror, notice the lack of highlight on face.
Light just out of frame camera left.
Close in I felt the light did an awesome job. Is some residual heat using this set up, but nothing major.
